If you have been following along you know that I call My 6 year old son the Dude. I was sitting around wondering what he thinks about the world and his surroundings. Now some of my favorite pieces of content available right now is either off the cuff question and answer speeches or Interview Podcasts. So I thought to myself how appropriate to conduct an interview with a free spirited 6 year old. I pondered this idea for a couple days and decided to write down some questions and find out exactly how a 6 yr old sees his world. Here it goes- Today is June 17th 2019.
I sat down with Will on a rainy afternoon. There was not much to do and he had spent the day at summer school, so his mind was pretty stimulated already. I decided if I was going to do this, now would be the time.
What is your favorite Color?
Blue
What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Ummm, probably dive in a pool.
What is your favorite day of the week?
I like Wednesday, because it starts with W.
Water balloons or Tv?
I would choose Tv, because when you do water balloons you have to dry off and shower and you get very dirty.
What is one thing you do not like to do?
Ummm, I really don’t like to be mean to my family because that will make other people be mean to their family and another family and another family and pretty soon everyone will be mad at each other.
Dogs or Cats?
I hate cats so I’m going to go with Dogs.
Which came first the chicken or the egg?
You know thats a hard one, but I know the answer. People always think the egg, but nobody knows. Its probably the egg. I also think it could be the chicken. I’m on one of those two.
What is your favorite movie?
Thats a hard one but I’m going to go with the Grinch(The new one).
What is your favorite indoor activity?
Play with my dog.
What scares you the most?
My cover(Canopy) on my bed, because it leaves a big shadow on the middle top and it looks like a coffin. It gives me creeps.
Who is your best friend and why?
****** but since he’s not here I still wish for him to come back.
On your favorite day what did you do?
Vacation with the Angelicas when we went to the beach and rode the bikes.
Do you like phones?
Maybe, but I hate them but I kind of like them.
What is the biggest danger facing society right now?
Do you know? Because I do. A vampire Meg.(Megladon)
Do you like computers?
Kind of.
What makes you the happiest?
Ummm, going on a vacation.
What makes you the saddest?
When people die and I dream about it. Theres bad people in the world and you’re probably not going to die because you are a strong Dad. The only problem is if we’re split up you cant fight for all of us. Can I ask you a question? YES How quick would you be to save us and mom? REAL QUICK but what if the other person was quicker? IT DOESN’T MATTER THE FIRST THING I WOULD DO IS GET YOU AND MOM OUT OF HARMS WAY AND THEN I WOULD SEE IF WE ARE STILL IN DANGER. IF WE WERE, I WOULD TAKE ACTION TO ALLEVIATE THE DANGER. Ok. 😦
What is the funniest thing?
Ummm, thats a hard one. Could I make something up? YES Ok if Mom would accidentally fall backwards into a pool and then farted all the way down to the bottom.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Police
If you could be any animal what would it be?
Jaguar, I would also pick a Meg
If you could fly a plane anywhere where would it be?
To the clouds so I could Skydive
If you could help anyone who would it be ?

No, but I heard a boy say he didn’t like the teacher. I don’t know why he said that.

That I can swim to the bottom of a deep pool.
I will have to tell you that this interview was way more intense than I had expected. There are a couple of things I would like to point out. Kids are very honest and Candid with their thoughts. Its interesting that the biggest danger he feels is facing society is a nonexistent extinct creature and what most people would consider the real danger doesn’t scare him but instead makes him sad. I’m almost positive that the phone answer is because his main competition for attention is the phone. He likes them when he has it but does not when he is competing with it. The last thing is that at our youngest ages and on a very deep level what we really care about is our family and friends. I invite everyone to spend a little time asking and listening to what our kids have to say. Things don’t have to be as complex as we make them. Maybe we could learn a little from these young souls.
